Alex and Caitlyn
Alex and Caitlyn met in 2011 while she was on a girl's wine tasting weekend in Eastern Washington. They instantly became friends, and kept in touch every once in a while over the next few years over text and Facebook. One day out of the blue, Alex called Caitlyn inviting her to go with him to their rival college football game, as well as a Monday night Seahawks game, in trade for room and board at her apartment for the weekend. Caitlyn was a bit skeptical at first, but who would ever be dumb enough to pass up free football tickets? Turns out she was actually second choice as a date, as his buddy couldn't go (ha!). After hitting it off and having an incredible weekend together, they started dating, and became a long-distance couple. A few months into dating, Alex knew it was time he made the move over to Seattle. After a few months of living on the same side of the state, they were unrepeatable, and took the next step and moved in together.
In February of 2015, they took a family trip to the island of Oahu, and stayed in the North Shore. On their third night in Hawaii, Alex and Caitlyn got away for the night, grabbing a romantic dinner at Turtle Bay overlooking the beach. Alex was dead set on getting a picture of us at sunset, so they rushed through dinner, grabbed a drink to-go, and headed for the beach. Alex took Caitlyn to a secluded cliff side area on the resort, where she was surprised to find they had a reserved spot decked out with tea lights and champagne. There, Alex got down on one knee and popped the question.
Our wedding took place on September 10th, in the heart of Washington Wine Country, at a beautiful, Mediterranean winery. We decided to buy-out the winery and restaurant to ensure that the event would be a fun, private and intimate celebration. The venue's sweeping views of Eastern Washington's rolling hills, twinkling bistro lights, and the warm glow of the fire pits called for a glowing, magical gown. When we booked Tagaris Winery, I knew I had to find a Hayley Paige gown that was just as magical as the venue. That's when I discovered Roxanne in Moonstone on Nordstrom.com. It was a perfect fit not only for the venue, but for me as well! Radiant, edgy, playful, and just down-right gorgeous. And let's not forget about that back detail! I used wine tones, blushes, and hints of grays and silver to play off the sparkly bodice in our decor, flowers, and bridesmaids. It is such an amazing feeling to truly say that our wedding day was the best day of our lives!
